The Best Dog Toys

 Toys Around the House

No matter which room you go into there will be one of Phoebe’s toys, whether it be a ball of some sort or a Kong there will be one.   I remember she had all her toy’s downstairs and one by one she started to disappear with them, we wondered what she was doing but didn’t think much more of it.  Upon going to bed we noticed she had put all her toys in a pile on our bed! She didn’t look too happy when we moved them all back downstairs.

We’ve had many toys throughout the six years of having Phoebe she can destroy anything, even the toys that say they are indestructible apart from one make Mighty Mutts – I will be talking more about their toys later.  We have many half / quarter tennis balls as well as whole ones and a Kong missing the top but mainly they end up in the bin in pieces.

 Greetings

Like most dogs Phoebe will greet anyone when they come in.  She always, always brings one of her own toys of some sort, basically which ever one she finds first.  However, if there isn’t a toy available she will find a cuddly toy and bring that! As long as she can greet you with something she’s happy, I mean she will never give it to you just hold it in  her in her mouth, but the thought is there!

She brought her tennis ball

Walks with Toys

Phoebe does love a walk if it isn’t raining, windy or too cold she will go out.   I remember one Christmas a couple of years ago Phoebe got a present off my Nana, it had a squeaky Santa in it, she LOVED it.  This is the longest lasting squeaky toy and lived for two weeks! She loved it that much it would go on a walk with her every day, I think the Santa saw nearly all of Arbroath on their wanders.  If she hasn’t got a toy to take with her, if she can find a suitable stick this will come on the wanders too.

Tennis Balls and Footballs

We have a torn-up football that has lasted a while now, it started off whole and lasted around 3 minutes until she burst it…it is now all shredded but still able to be played with.   Every now and then she will have a little nibble and we find the odd bit on the floor but it’s lasting.  Phoebe has been through many…I’d hate to think the amount she has gone through.

Only destroying it a little

Tennis balls…. now where do I start with them; when she sees we’ve got her a new one it’s like Christmas! She’ll run away with it and start to chew! Phoebe doesn’t always rip these apart straight away, she loves to play with them, but she’ll only give you them if she wants you to throw them otherwise you won’t get a look in.  We do have many bits of tennis balls laying around the house, but the last two she has had are still intact (better not say that too loud).  Phoebe will fall asleep with a tennis ball in her mouth, she’ll be sitting chewing away and it’ll get slower and slower until her eyes start to shut and then fall asleep.

Her ball is never far away

Mighty Mutts

One-word AMAZING! These toys are fantastic! Phoebe has never managed to break/tear/chew apart these toys! She has three – a tri bone here and at my mams and a bone at my Nana’s can you tell we think these are great.  You get them in different sizes and shapes.  They even come with a 3-year guarantee, if your dog manages to break one within the three years you get a new one for FREE! How great is that?!

Mighty Mutts - Tri Bone

Having a good chew

This is the longest a toy has ever lasted in our house, they usually last between 3 mins to two weeks MAX!
The Tri Bone is great for chewing, playing fetch and you can also stuff with their favourite treats to make it more interesting to play.  Phoebe loves to chew; these bones have endured many hours of chewing and are still in one piece.
I would recommend one of the Mighty Mutts toys especially for dogs who destroy toys very easily and get bored.
