Arbroath Cliff Adventure

Phoebe enjoying the view
Before the Walk

We'd planned for Phoebe to go on a walk along Arbroath Cliffs but then Storm Ali hit, luckily it didn't last into the weekend and with the sun coming out and temperatures rising it was the perfect opportunity.

As I'm still house bound this was a 3 people adventure; Mikey, Skye on her bike and Phoebe to bring the cuteness and adventure.

The Beginning

Skye went off on her bike to get up the hill at the start of the cliffs with Phoebe being a close second so she could get there and start her adventure.  Once at the top there are signs showing you the walk and want to do in an emergency if someone was to fall or get stuck at the cliffs.

Phoebe Admiring the view
The views are amazing and only get better as you start to walk along the top.  We don't let Phoebe off the lead much as she is TOO nosy and wants to meet everyone, I'd definitely recommend not letting dogs off their lead along the top especially if they like to explore better to be safe!

The Middle

Exploring around the rocks
As said in Phoebe's Forfar Loch Adventure, she loves to watch the birds and take in the scenery and views.  This is somewhere Phoebe has been a few times before but not as often as we should take her, her exploring goes wild and she's all over!

There are lots of little trails that take you down towards the sea and into openings and caves, some are easily accessible however others aren't - if you do decide to go down any make sure they're safe and you're capable of getting back safely as well.

Phoebe and Skye exploring
Any little path that was leading down Phoebe was edging to start her exploring.  Luckily there was one that she was able to get down, with a wag in her tail and a smile on her face she started off down the path.  Making sure she was safe, Mikey ensured her extendable lead was short and locked.  They managed to get down to Dickmont's Den and Phoebe hopped up onto the rock for a perfect picture opportunity and also get even better views of the sea and the different birds that were around.

The End

Checking out the edge of the cliff
As any good walk there are lots of rest points for everyone if they need a seat or just to sit and take in the amazing views. There are so many photo opportunities so if you're a keen photographer why not get yourself down?! The way back means Phoebe will stop and take in all the views and head back to those places where she got the best smells.  Also as she stops more she might get that little extra treat.

The Cliffs
Cliff View
If you're a keen walker the route will take you along to Auchmithie which is roughly a good 7 mile walk, but don't let that put you off there is a great restaurant called The But 'n' Ben, where you can stop for some food and drinks.

Cliff View
The only thing that really stood out is there aren't any dog bins or general waste bins a long the top, unfortunately lots of people have left their bags at the side of the walk.  I don't think this is all deliberate, they might have put it down on the way out on their walk and forgot to pick it back up.  So if you're dog walking or going along and having a cliff top picnic just be aware the bins are at the start.
