Forfar Loch Adventure

The Adventure Begins

As we are still having bouts of good weather we thought it would be a great idea for a walk around Forfar Loch.   It worked out even better, Mikey was collecting Skye around dinner time of the Saturday so she had a great surprise and slobbery kisses when she got in the car.  Unfortunately I couldn't make this adventure, however with the help of Skye I've been able to put together this post.

Arrival

Phoebe was so excited to see Skye she was trying to get into the back of the car to give lots of kisses.  Once all settled they set off to the Loch.  Forfar loch is a very popular place for dog walker, runners, fitness addicts and families.  The car was parked and made their way down to the Loch.  Skye had a little play on one of the fitness equipment stops to start, however Phoebe was having none of it and wanted to get started on her adventure.

Lets Get Going

The trip around the Loch is roughly 2.5 miles with lots of places to look, sniff and chill.  As it was a warm sunny day, a bottle of water was a must for Phoebe and some liver cake too.  There are plenty of areas to chill and take shade if need be and as you know Phoebe loves a cuddle and a good treat so even better with all the stopping points.  As it was the weekend and a lovely sunny day, the Loch was very busy with dog walks and people out with their families, however this did not effect Phoebe's sense of adventure.

Investigating

There are lots of areas to be investigated and so many different smells too; one spot Phoebe likes is to watch the ducks and the swans she has a fascination with them, we are not too sure why but she loves to stand and watch them swim about.  The walk is not boring, as there are so many things to see when on your way round as well as wildlife especially with the lovely weather as well as the boats on the Loch. If you're into fitness there are different pit stops around the Loch where you can do different exercises.

Some spots were more appealing to Phoebe especially when she couldn't quite get to them, she will look through fences and jump if there is a wall to try and see over - so nosy!  As I have mentioned in previous posts Phoebe hates water, well at the Loch she actually ran over towards the water & even paddled her feet...I couldn't believe it, but it wasn't long enough for photo evidence, so did it really happen?!

The Straight Home

Whilst Phoebe was off checking out everything, Skye was looking for a rope swing that was once there.  Phoebe with her amazing investigating skills found it! Unfortunately it couldn't be used as the rope had been cut short.  However all was not lost, they found the Forfar Witches grave! This is a tale from the 1600's about the witches that were found in Forfar.  To find out more there is a link at the bottom.

Everyone seemed to enjoy their walk especially Phoebe and Skye with the water and treat breaks! What a great way to start the weekend.

Where does your dog enjoy walking? Do they have a favourite place or just love investigating, let us know in the comments!
